NICO Group has reiterated its commitment to contributing toward the health sector by donating K4,530,000 to Adventist Health Services (AHS).
The donation will go towards purchasing a solar power system unit that will be installed at AHS’s Soche Clinic.
NICO Pension General Manager, Gerald Chima said the company understands the challenges that the health sector in Malawi is meeting.
“It is always heart-breaking to hear of the lack of resources in the health sector. As a caring contributor in Malawi, we are committed toward assisting in every way we can,” Chima said.
NICO Life Chief Executive Officer, Eric Chapola, reiterated Chima’s sentiments adding that it is pleasing to also see other corporates playing their part in the health sector.
“The current economic status has affected all business operations. And that being the case, health operations have also been somewhat disturbed. I have read of corporates making various contributions to the cause and this is commendable,” Chapola said.
AHS Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Fyson Kasenga, expressed his gratitude to NICO, saying the donation was timely.
“On behalf of Adventist Health Services management and indeed on my own behalf, I would like to thank you and NICO management for supporting AHS with funds to procure solar power system. This support will go a long way in strengthening health services delivery at Soche Clinic where solar power system will be installed,” Dr. Kasenga said.
NICO Group remains committed to remaining a responsible corporate citizen in Malawi.
