NICO Life on 20th December 2019 held long service awards for it's employees at Chibisa House. The awards are given to staff who achieve long service with organisation for 10/15/20/25/30/35years. This year's awardees were NICO Life Chief Executive Officer Mr Eric Chapola and NICO Life Assistant Human Resources and Administration Manager Mr Lawrence Kaulembe.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees Mr Chapola thanked all for attending the function. "Time flies he said, proceeding to share how he has worked for 15years in NICO group but with industry experience of 35years.
He shared his story, it's been a rewarding experience, and that he entered insurance industry 1984 as graduate from poly aged 21 and as accounts clerk. He Studied and worked hard and in 15 years became CEO of CGU his first employer before NICO. In 2004 he joined NICO Group by starting off office in Uganda where he worked from 2004-2007. In 2007 he went to NICO General to 2017 and now NICO Life and Pension.
He shared his qualities for success which he said are dedication to duty, loyalty and hard work.
Speaking at the same function, Mr Lawrence Kaulembe said he was Humbled to receive the award after many years facilitating awards for others. He shared how hardwork and working well with others eg managers have shaped his career.
The awards were facilitated by NICO Holdings Group CFO Mr Chifundo Chiundira. He cited how these awards were very special for NICO Group as it's the CEO getting long service award which is rare and the HR resource. He extended his congratulations to Eric and Lawrence. He encouraged other staff to work hard as well and take an example from these awards and always look forward to positive response and negative feedback as well as that's how you can grow and improve as an employee. In closing Mr Chiundira thanked Eric and Lawrence and encouraged others to emulate what Eric has done and follow footsteps.
