NICO Life on Tuesday presented a cheque of MK1.5 million to the Institute of Bankers in Malawi (IOB) towards its annual conference slated for Mangochi District tomorrow.
The two-day indaba, which would bring the country’s bankers to a roundtable, would be held under the theme ‘Financial Sector Synergies; A catalyst for Financial Inclusion.’
NICO Life Chief Executive Officer, Eric Chapola, said his firm realises the importance of the annual conference in promoting the banking industry.
He said NICO was delighted that delegates to the meeting would, among other topics, brainstorm on possible ways of advancing the financial inclusion drive.
“We [stakeholders] are working together on the financial inclusion drive and “We [stakeholders] are working together on the financial inclusion drive and economic growth strides, hence NICO Life’s commitment to supporting the conference,”
IOB Chief Executive Officer, Lyness Nkungula, thanked NICO Life for the donation.
“We appreciate the gesture. The funds would help in the effective hosting of the conference,” Nkungula said.
She said all is set for the conference, which would create a platform for stakeholders to come up with innovative ideas.
